Key Responsibilities
- Provide temporary relief and care for individuals with special needs, disabilities, or chronic illnesses, allowing primary caregivers a break.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility support.
- Engage clients in stimulating and appropriate activities, both at home and within the community, fostering their independence and social interaction.
- Implement individualized care plans, observing and documenting any changes in client condition or behavior.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for clients.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, their families, and other care team members.
- Adhere strictly to all confidentiality, safety, and ethical guidelines.
- Transport clients to appointments or community outings as required, using a personal vehicle or public transportation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, ensuring the client feels valued and respected.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a caregiving or support role.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Human Services, Personal Support Worker (PSW), or a related field.
