Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression.
- Efficiently manage reservations and walk-ins, accurately quoting wait times, and escorting guests to their tables.
- Proactively communicate with guests waiting for tables, offering amenities and keeping them informed.
- Maintain an organised and clean host stand and waiting area.
- Assist in managing the restaurant's seating chart and table turns to maximise efficiency during peak evening service.
- Collaborate effectively with the service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth guest flow and service delivery.
- Handle guest enquiries, resolve minor issues, and escalate more complex situations to management as needed.
- Answer phones professionally and assist with reservation changes or information requests.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the menu, restaurant layout, and special offerings.
- Support other front-of-house duties as required, contributing to a cohesive team effort.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organisational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
- A positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly through the restaurant.
- Flexibility to work evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, SevenRooms).
- Familiarity with the Dishoom brand and philosophy.
- A genuine passion for food and beverage, particularly Indian cuisine.
- Prior experience as a Restaurant Host in a bustling London establishment.
