Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist them with seating arrangements.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions regarding food and beverage offerings.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders using the lodge's point-of-sale system.
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Clear tables, wash dishes, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dining area, kitchen, and service stations.
  • Assist with basic food preparation, such as cutting vegetables, setting up buffet lines, or preparing non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Handle cash and card payments accurately, process transactions, and provide correct change.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations, as well as food hygiene standards, are strictly followed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor inventory of restaurant supplies and report needs to management.
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve any dining-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Perform opening and closing duties for the restaurant, including setting up and breaking down tables and chairs.

  • Basic numeracy for handling cash transactions and making change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Sesotho, Zulu) or additional international languages.
