As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for a wide array of duties that keep our products moving. This includes preparing outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling goods according to precise specifications and safety standards. You will meticulously verify order accuracy, ensuring that all items match invoices and shipping documents before dispatch. A key aspect of your role will involve coordinating with various carriers, scheduling pickups, and generating shipping labels using our logistics software. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) in a safe manner.
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects, record discrepancies, and notify appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation using shipping software.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Proficiency in inventory management software, databases, and systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with Modesto area shipping routes and carriers.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
