Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level SOC Monitoring Assistant to join our growing Security Operations Center (SOC) team in Kingston, Jamaica. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems and other security tools for alerts, incidents, and potential threats.
- Perform initial triage and investigation of security alerts to determine their severity and authenticity.
- Document security incidents thoroughly, including steps taken, analysis, and escalation points.
- Escalate confirmed security incidents to senior SOC analysts or incident response teams as per established protocols.
- Assist in the development and refinement of security monitoring procedures and playbooks.
- Support senior analysts with ad-hoc security tasks and projects as needed.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices through continuous learning.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and security concepts.
