Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and independently progress a diverse caseload of legal matters.
  • Provide comprehensive and expert legal advice to clients on complex issues.
  • Represent clients effectively in court, tribunals, or alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client advice.
  • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Engage in business development activities and contribute to the firm's growth.
  • Mentor and supervise junior solicitors, paralegals, and legal assistants.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all professional conduct rules, legal standards, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Admitted Solicitor in Scotland with a current Practising Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in a relevant practice area.
  • Profound knowledge of Scottish legal principles, procedures, and legislation.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including strong drafting capabilities.
  • Proven track record in negotiation, advocacy, and dispute resolution.

  • High level of professional integrity, client care, and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and standard office software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialist accreditation from the Law Society of Scotland or other relevant bodies.
