Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and dismantle sound and lighting equipment for various live events.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on audio, lighting, and AV systems.
- Conduct sound checks and lighting tests to ensure optimal performance and quality.
- Program and operate digital and analog sound mixing consoles, lighting desks, and associated software.
- Collaborate closely with event managers, performers, and clients to understand and execute their technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently during events.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring safe practices in equipment handling and setup.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Sound and Light Technician in live event settings.
- Proficiency in operating various sound equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, and PA systems.
- Strong understanding of lighting design principles and operation of intelligent lighting fixtures and control systems (e.g., DMX).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and event specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical fitness to lift, carry, and set up heavy equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS, industry-specific software training).
- Experience with projection mapping, LED wall setup, or other advanced visual technologies.
- Knowledge of network audio protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB).
- A portfolio showcasing previous sound and lighting projects.
- Experience working in a variety of venues and event types (theatre, concerts, corporate, conferences).
