Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Stage Technician with a specialization in Event Sound Setup to join our growing team in Dubai. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to play a pivotal role in delivering world-class live events across the region. As a Stage Technician, you will be instrumental in the technical execution of various productions, ensuring seamless audio experiences that captivate audiences and meet our clients’ exacting standards. Your daily work will involve the precise installation, configuration, operation, and dismantling of professional sound systems, including mixers, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and associated cabling.
This role demands a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic event environments. You will work closely with event managers, production teams, and clients to understand their specific requirements and translate them into technical realities. Beyond sound, you may also assist with general stage setup, including lighting and video elements, demonstrating versatility and a collaborative spirit. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and operate professional sound equipment, including FOH and monitor systems, digital/analog mixers, microphones, playback devices, and communication systems.
- Perform pre-event equipment checks, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure all audio components are in optimal working condition.
- Collaborate with event managers, artists, and other technical crew members to understand audio requirements and deliver high-quality sound reinforcement.
- Manage and organize cabling, power distribution, and signal flow to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient stage environment.
- Conduct sound checks, adjust levels, and mix audio during live events to achieve desired sonic clarity and balance.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of other stage elements such as lighting, video screens, and staging structures as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while handling equipment and working on event sites.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on audio equipment, reporting larger issues to management.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for assigned equipment and ensure proper storage and transportation.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in setting up and operating professional audio equipment (mixers, speakers, microphones, amplifiers).
- Strong understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, and sound reinforcement principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively under pressure.
- Experience with both analog and digital audio consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Behringer, Midas, Avid).
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and work irregular hours.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid UAE driving license and ability to commute to various event locations across Dubai.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in audio engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience with live event production software (e.g., SMAART, QLab).
- Basic knowledge of lighting and video systems for events.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced event production company or venue.
- Fluency in Arabic is a plus.
