Career.zycto is seeking experienced and highly skilled Stucco Plasterers for immediate full-time hire in the Indian Village area of Detroit. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for stucco application, including cleaning, repairing, and applying lath or other base materials.
  • Measure, mix, and apply various types of stucco, plaster, and related materials according to specifications and architectural drawings.
  • Masterfully apply coats, including scratch, brown, and finish coats, ensuring proper thickness, texture, and curing.
  • Perform intricate detail work around windows, doors, and architectural features.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding and temporary work platforms safely.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including trowels, floats, sprayers, and mixers.
  • Inspect finished work for quality, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on job sites.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, other tradespeople, and clients to ensure project timelines and quality expectations are met.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Stucco Plasterer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in traditional and modern stucco application techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, mixing ratios, and application methods for various stucco types.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, aesthetically pleasing finishes.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and understanding of OSHA regulations.
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Detroit metropolitan area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in plastering or stucco application.
  • Experience with specialty plaster finishes, such as Venetian plaster or EIFS systems.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License.
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish/English) are a plus.
