Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file various tax forms, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with KRA regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax computations and reconciliations for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Maintain organized and accurate tax records and documentation, both physical and digital.
  • Conduct research on tax laws, regulations, and relevant changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Support the finance team during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Reconcile tax accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data required for tax reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provision calculations for financial statements.
  • Communicate effectively with tax authorities and internal stakeholders regarding tax matters.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a tax or accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and regulations (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA Part I or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with KRA iTax portal.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards (IFRS/IAS).
  • Experience in a professional services or manufacturing industry.
