Job Description
Are you a skilled, courteous, and reliable driver with an intimate knowledge of Zanzibar’s roads and a passion for exceptional customer service? Zantours is seeking an enthusiastic Travel Guest Pickup Driver to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is often the first point of contact for our arriving guests, setting the tone for their entire island experience. You will be responsible for providing safe, comfortable, and timely transportation for our guests, primarily for airport and hotel transfers, as well as various excursions and activities across Zanzibar. The ideal candidate will embody our brand’s commitment to professionalism, hospitality, and local expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually pick up and drop off guests from various locations, including Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, hotels, and excursion sites.
- Operate company vehicles responsibly, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of assigned vehicles, conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Assist guests with luggage handling, ensuring their comfort and security during transit.
- Provide basic, accurate information about Zanzibar, Zantours' services, and local attractions when prompted by guests.
- Communicate effectively with the Zantours operations team regarding schedules, route changes, and any guest-related issues.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per operational needs.
- Handle unexpected situations or emergencies calmly and professionally, following company protocols.
Required Skills
- Valid Tanzanian driving license (Class C1 or equivalent for passenger vehicles).
- Excellent knowledge of Zanzibar's road networks, major attractions, and hotel locations.
- Proven track record of safe driving with no major traffic violations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite and friendly demeanor.
- Exceptional time management and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism and customer service orientation.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a driver in the tourism or hospitality sector.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages (e.g., French, German, Italian) is a significant advantage.
- Defensive driving certification or equivalent training.
