Key Responsibilities
- Assist guests in understanding and safely participating in various water sports activities (e.g., snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding).
- Prepare, distribute, and collect water sports equipment, ensuring it is in excellent condition and properly stored.
- Conduct daily safety checks of all equipment and activity areas, reporting any issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Provide basic instructions and demonstrations on equipment usage and safety guidelines to guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the water sports area, equipment, and storage facilities.
- Monitor guest activities to ensure adherence to safety regulations and intervene when necessary.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of beach and water sports events or programs.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests, offering knowledgeable assistance.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Support the Water Sports Supervisor in all operational aspects as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong swimming ability and comfort in various water conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move equipment (up to 20kg).
- A genuine passion for water sports and outdoor activities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Fluency in English (verbal communication).
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of different water sports equipment and techniques.
- Previous experience in a customer service or guest-facing role (even if informal).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with local marine life and environmental conservation practices.
- Proficiency in Swahili (verbal communication).
