Simba Supermarket Ltd. is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry Level Kitchen Assistant to join our fast-paced fast food outlet team in Nyanza. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to learn the fundamentals of kitchen operations, food preparation, and hygiene standards from the ground up. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our kitchen, supporting our experienced chefs and cooks in delivering delicious, high-quality meals to our valued customers. You’ll be involved in various tasks, from preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness to assisting with cooking processes. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, regularly cleaning work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently and safely.
- Support in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing waste.
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and inform the supervisor of low stock.
- Help in plating and serving food items as instructed.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and health regulations.
- Assist with waste disposal and ensure the kitchen area remains tidy at all times.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor or manager.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations or a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent personal hygiene and cleanliness habits.
- Good physical stamina for standing, lifting, and carrying.

Preferred Qualifications
