Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, latte, cappuccino, and specialty drinks, adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, taking orders and providing recommendations.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently using a POS system.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, coffee bar, and seating areas.
- Monitor and replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Assist with inventory management and reporting low stock levels.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold the café’s values.
- Educate customers on coffee offerings, origins, and brewing methods.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, preferably at least 6 months.
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills in English and/or German.
- Attention to detail and a passion for high-quality beverages.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an independent coffee shop setting.
- Knowledge of various coffee beans, roasting profiles, and brewing methods.
- Ability to create latte art.
- German language proficiency (B1 level or higher).
- Food hygiene certificate (e.g., Belehrung nach §43 IfSG).
