As our Gardener for Landscape Maintenance, you will be the primary steward of these vital green assets. Your daily activities will span a wide range of tasks designed to ensure the impeccable presentation and ecological health of our grounds. This includes the precise pruning of ornamental shrubs and trees to encourage healthy growth and desired shapes, meticulous weeding of all garden beds to prevent competition for nutrients and maintain a tidy appearance, and the regular mowing and edging of lawns to create crisp, clean lines. You will also be responsible for the thoughtful application of fertilizers and soil amendments, tailoring your approach to the specific needs of various plant species and soil conditions to promote robust growth and vibrant blooms. Furthermore, a critical aspect of your role will involve vigilant monitoring for signs of pests and diseases, implementing timely and effective organic or chemical treatments as necessary to protect our plant life. You will manage our irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water delivery to all areas of the landscape while conserving water resources. Beyond the routine, you will participate in exciting new planting projects, selecting and positioning new flora to enhance existing designs or create entirely new features. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily gardening tasks including planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and mowing.
- Maintain the hotel's lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees to a high standard of aesthetic appeal and health.
- Monitor plants for signs of pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies, and apply appropriate preventative or remedial treatments.
- Operate and maintain various gardening tools and equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, hand tools).
- Manage and maintain irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage and optimal plant hydration.
- Prepare soil for planting, including fertilization, soil amendment application, and tilling.
- Implement seasonal planting schedules and contribute ideas for landscape design improvements and plant selection.
- Ensure all garden areas are clean, tidy, and free of debris, maintaining a pristine environment.
- Adhere strictly to safety standards and environmental policies in all gardening activities.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, significant plant health issues, or safety concerns to management promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (at least 1 year) in landscape maintenance or professional gardening.
- Strong knowledge of various plant species, their care requirements, and common pests/diseases.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a range of gardening tools and machinery.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of irrigation principles and water conservation techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics in garden design and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications
