Key Responsibilities
- Translate a variety of documents and content (e.g., technical, marketing, legal, academic) from source to target language, maintaining original meaning, context, and tone.
- Ensure grammatical accuracy, linguistic style, and cultural relevance in all translated materials.
- Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of translations to deliver error-free content.
- Research specialized terminology and subject matter to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Adhere to project-specific style guides, glossaries, and client instructions.
- Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- Utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and translation memory (TM) software effectively.
- Maintain open communication with project managers regarding project status and any challenges.
Required Skills
- Native-level proficiency in at least one target language (e.g., German or English).
- Exceptional fluency and comprehensive understanding of at least one source language (e.g., English or German).
- Proven experience as a professional translator, preferably with a diverse portfolio.
- Strong command of grammar, syntax, and style in both source and target languages.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast).
- Excellent research skills for terminology and subject matter.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage flexible working hours effectively.
