Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle to transport goods and packages across designated routes.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Verify accuracy of delivery contents against shipping documents and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Maintain detailed delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy, and in excellent working condition.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaican) with an excellent driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of proven professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws in Jamaica.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with Ocho Rios and surrounding areas.
- Ability to read maps and use GPS devices effectively for route optimization.
- Physical stamina to handle loading, unloading, and prolonged periods of driving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with route planning software or delivery management systems.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Customer service training or experience in a client-facing role.
