Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking highly motivated and experienced Truck Drivers for both long-distance hauls and crucial local deliveries based out of our Cramond, Edinburgh operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) for both long-distance and local delivery routes.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Secure cargo properly to ensure safe transit and prevent damage.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department for Transport (DfT) regulations, tachograph laws, and company safety procedures.
  • Accurately complete all delivery paperwork, including manifests, logs, and expense reports.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods while navigating various road conditions and traffic.
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, using appropriate equipment and safety measures.
  • Address any delivery issues or customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) driving license
  • Driver CPC qualification
  • Digital Tachograph card
  • Proven experience as a truck driver, demonstrating a strong safety record
  • Excellent knowledge of UK road regulations and traffic laws
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Scotland and wider UK road networks
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and securing loads
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of proven HGV driving experience
  • Experience with various types of goods and delivery environments
  • ADR (Dangerous Goods) certificate
  • Forklift truck operating license
  • Experience with refrigerated transport or specialized cargo
