Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical malfunctions and failures using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Execute complex mechanical repairs, including dismantling, replacing, or repairing defective parts, and reassembling machinery.
  • Conduct precise adjustments and alignments to ensure optimal machine performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, lockout/tag-out procedures, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with production operators and engineers to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians or production staff when necessary.
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing machinery or maintenance processes to enhance reliability and uptime.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems, including gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
  • Competence in using a wide range of hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic electrical knowledge for troubleshooting control systems related to mechanical operations.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Adherence to industrial safety standards and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Mechanics, or a related technical field.
