Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research to develop new exhibition concepts, interpret collections, and produce scholarly content.
- Manage and document specific collection areas, ensuring proper storage, conservation, and ethical acquisition.
- Design and implement engaging exhibitions, including object selection, label writing, and spatial planning, in collaboration with design and production teams.
- Contribute to fundraising initiatives by developing compelling proposals and nurturing donor relationships.
- Develop and deliver public programs, lectures, and tours that enhance audience engagement and understanding.
- Author exhibition catalogues, scholarly articles, and other interpretive materials.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote exhibitions and institutional initiatives.
- Oversee budgets and timelines for curatorial projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Mentor junior staff and interns, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
- Stay abreast of current trends in museology, art history, and relevant fields.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Archaeology, or a related humanities field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive curatorial experience in a museum, gallery, or cultural institution.
- Demonstrated expertise in exhibition development, collection management, and scholarly research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in museum collection databases and digital content management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
