Job Description
Join the dynamic team at Career.zycto as a General Laborer, where your physical strength and diligent work ethic will be the cornerstone of our operations in Thompson, Manitoba. This full-time, on-site role is perfect for individuals eager to contribute hands-on to a variety of industrial projects. As a General Laborer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our sites run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You’ll be involved in foundational tasks that directly support our skilled trades and project managers, providing essential assistance that keeps everything moving forward.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, encompassing everything from material handling and site preparation to equipment operation and general clean-up. You’ll be expected to safely lift, carry, and move various materials, tools, and equipment, often weighing up to 50 lbs, across potentially uneven job sites. This role requires constant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout your shift. You will assist in setting up and dismantling work areas, operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, and maintain a clean and organized work environment crucial for operational efficiency and accident prevention.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and transport materials and equipment across job sites.
- Perform general site clean-up, including debris removal and waste disposal.
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, electricians, welders) with various tasks.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision (e.g., drills, grinders, saws).
- Prepare work areas by setting up barriers, signage, and other safety measures.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any malfunctions.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs consistently.
