Job Description

As a Dementia Care Lead for the night shift, you will be the compassionate anchor of our care team during crucial overnight hours, providing exceptional person-centred support to residents living with dementia. This challenging yet profoundly rewarding role requires a keen eye for detail, unwavering patience, and a deep understanding of dementia’s complexities and varied presentations. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring the highest standards of care, comfort, and safety are maintained throughout the night, fostering an environment where residents feel secure, valued, and respected. Beyond direct care, you will guide and mentor junior staff, ensuring that every interaction upholds the dignity and individuality of our residents, promoting a truly holistic and empathetic approach to wellbeing.

Working both autonomously and as an integral part of a dedicated team, you will be pivotal in managing the unique needs that often arise during the night. This encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, from supporting residents with restless sleep patterns and assisting with personal care, to expertly providing reassurance and de-escalation during moments of confusion or anxiety. Your ability to anticipate needs, respond proactively and effectively to changes in residents’ conditions, and implement tailored, responsive care plans will be paramount. You will ensure seamless continuity of care and promote a pervasive sense of calm and stability throughout the night. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in meticulously documenting observations, communicating effectively and concisely with the day team during handover, and actively contributing to the overall strategic planning of resident care. This leadership role offers the profound opportunity to truly make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals, guaranteeing that even in the quietest hours, our residents receive the attentive, specialised care they deserve. We are looking for an individual who is not only passionate about enhancing the quality of life for those with dementia but also committed to continuous professional development and eager to embrace the specific rhythms and critical responsibilities of night-time care leadership. Join a team where your expertise is genuinely valued, your professional growth is actively encouraged, and your contributions directly impact the wellbeing, peace of mind, and overall quality of life for our cherished residents and their families.
