Job Description
We are seeking a warm, responsible, and experienced Nanny Childcare Assistant to join a loving family in Dandora, Nairobi. Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and supervised care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with daily routines including feeding, bathing, dressing, and grooming children according to their age and needs.
- Organize and lead age-appropriate educational activities, creative play, and outdoor excursions to foster development.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children, adhering to any dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized children's living and play areas, including tidying toys and children's laundry.
- Establish and maintain consistent daily schedules for naps, meals, and activities.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents about the children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Assist children with homework and school projects as required, promoting a positive learning attitude.
- Handle minor first aid incidents with calm competence and administer medication if required, following parental instructions.
- Foster good manners, hygiene practices, and social skills in children.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience as a Nanny, Babysitter, or Childcare Assistant.
- Demonstrated ability to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Swahili.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of child development stages and age-appropriate activities.
- Ability to perform light household duties related to childcare.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain promptly).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or a related field.
- References from previous childcare employers are highly desirable.
- Experience caring for infants and toddlers.
- Knowledge of various educational play techniques and resources.
- A clean background check and police clearance certificate.
