Job Description
Are you a physically fit and dependable individual with a strong work ethic? AFGRI, a prominent leader in the South African agricultural sector, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Dock Worker to join our dynamic team in Vryburg, North West. This pivotal role involves the efficient and safe handling of various agricultural products and materials within our busy grain handling and storage facility. As a Dock Worker, you will be at the heart of our logistics operations, ensuring that goods are loaded, unloaded, and moved with precision and care.
Your day-to-day will be anything but monotonous. You’ll be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, meticulously checking for damage, and accurately verifying quantities against manifests. A critical aspect of your role will involve the safe and efficient operation of various material handling equipment, which may include forklifts, pallet jacks, and other specialized machinery, all while adhering to strict safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments manually and using material handling equipment.
- Inspect shipments for damage and discrepancies; report any issues immediately.
- Verify product quantities against shipping documents and manifests.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Stack and organize products in designated storage areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment on the dock and in the warehouse.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational targets.
- Perform general warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
