Key Responsibilities
- Perform standard 12-lead electrocardiograms (EKGs) with precision and care, following established protocols.
- Prepare patients for EKG procedures, including explaining the process, addressing any questions, and positioning them correctly.
- Attach EKG electrodes to patients' limbs and chest accurately and comfortably.
- Operate and maintain EKG equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness according to sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the EKG examination, responding to their needs promptly.
- Document EKG results and patient information accurately and efficiently in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work environment, including inventory of supplies.
- Adhere strictly to all clinic policies, procedures, patient privacy regulations (e.g., PHIPA), and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns with empathy and clarity.
