Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Artist Development Manager to join our thriving team in Gatineau, Quebec. This pivotal full-time role is designed for an individual with a deep passion for music, an acute understanding of the entertainment industry, and a proven track record in artist management and career development. As an Artist Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of identifying, nurturing, and strategically advancing the careers of our diverse roster of emerging and established artists. You will play a crucial role in shaping artistic identities, expanding market reach, and maximizing revenue streams.

Your day-to-day will involve a comprehensive blend of creative strategy, business acumen, and relationship management. You will work closely with artists to define their artistic vision, create compelling narratives, and execute effective marketing and promotional campaigns. This includes coordinating recording projects, tour planning, brand partnerships, and digital content strategies. You will be responsible for meticulously managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and fostering strong relationships with record labels, publishers, booking agents, publicists, and other industry stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive career strategies for artists, encompassing creative direction, branding, and market positioning.
  • Oversee all aspects of artist project management, including recording, mixing, mastering, and release schedules.
  • Identify and secure performance opportunities, touring engagements, and festival slots.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with labels, publishers, booking agents, promoters, and other industry partners.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including media, publicists, and digital platforms.
  • Manage artist budgets, financial planning, and royalty tracking to ensure fiscal responsibility and growth.
  • Craft and execute innovative marketing, promotion, and digital content strategies to expand artist reach and engagement.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to artists, fostering their creative and professional growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and technological advancements to identify new opportunities for artists.
  • Prepare detailed reports on artist performance, financial outcomes, and strategic milestones.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in artist management, A&R, or a related role within the music industry.
  • Demonstrable understanding of music business operations, including licensing, publishing, touring, and digital distribution.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and promoting musical talent.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong financial literacy and experience with budget management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and digital marketing tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
  • Extensive network of contacts within the Canadian and international music industry.
