Job Description

Career.zycto is thrilled to partner with a premier event management team in Chuiba, Pemba, to find an exceptional Wedding Coordinator. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through all stages of wedding planning, from initial consultation to post-event follow-up.
  • Develop, manage, and meticulously adhere to detailed wedding budgets, timelines, and comprehensive checklists.
  • Source, negotiate with, and cultivate strong relationships with a diverse range of high-quality vendors including caterers, florists, photographers, videographers, entertainers, and transportation services, ensuring all meet client expectations and budget constraints.
  • Assist couples with venue selection, spatial planning, décor conceptualization, and theme development, providing creative input and practical solutions.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects on the wedding day, meticulously overseeing the setup, ceremony, reception, and breakdown to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct thorough site visits, attend rehearsals, and perform final walk-throughs with vendors and clients to confirm all arrangements are in place and potential issues are mitigated.
  • Proactively identify and efficiently handle unexpected issues or emergencies that may arise on the event day, maintaining calm and professional composure.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current wedding trends, styles, cultural customs, and industry best practices to offer innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a stress-free, personalized, and enjoyable planning experience that builds lasting client relationships.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in wedding planning, event coordination, or a closely related hospitality role, demonstrating a portfolio of successful events.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, with an unwavering commitment to meticulous attention to detail and precision.
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time management skills to meet tight deadlines and handle dynamic priorities.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and interpersonal abilities, capable of building rapport with diverse clients and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with event management software or CRM systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and solve problems creatively and efficiently.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication with clients and local vendors.
  • A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for site visits and vendor meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Event Management or Wedding Planning (e.g., CMP, WPICC).
  • Extensive network of local high-quality vendors, venues, and suppliers in Pemba and surrounding areas of Cabo Delgado.
  • Experience with destination weddings, luxury events, or cultural events, particularly within the Mozambican context.
  • Proficiency in additional local languages is a plus.
