This full-time position offers an incredible opportunity for a dedicated individual to dive headfirst into the exciting world of artist and repertoire, playing a pivotal role in the discovery, development, and signing of emerging musical talent. As an A&R Assistant, you will be the backbone of our A&R department, providing essential support to A&R Managers and Directors, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing directly to our mission of finding the next big thing. You’ll be instrumental in managing demos, tracking artist development, coordinating meetings, and providing research that informs critical decisions. This role demands a proactive approach, exceptional attention to detail, a genuine passion for music across diverse genres, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Screening and logging incoming demos, submissions, and unsolicited material from artists.
  • Conducting comprehensive research on emerging artists, producers, and songwriters, including their online presence, live performance history, and market trends.
  • Assisting A&R Managers with scheduling meetings, studio sessions, showcases, and travel arrangements.
  • Preparing detailed reports, presentations, and correspondence related to artist development and project status.
  • Maintaining organized databases of artist contacts, demo submissions, and project files, ensuring all information is current.
  • Attending live shows, industry events, and conferences to scout new talent and build professional networks.
  • Supporting the negotiation and execution of artist contracts and agreements by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Coordinating logistics for A&R personnel and artists, including travel and accommodation.
  • Providing general administrative support to the A&R department as needed, contributing to a smooth workflow.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of professional interaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • In-depth knowledge of current music trends, streaming platforms, and social media marketing.
  • Basic experience with audio/video editing software.
