Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and briefs.
- Manage and organize physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily retrievable.
- Conduct preliminary legal research using online databases and other resources, summarizing findings for lawyers.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, depositions, and court hearings, managing calendars efficiently.
- Liaise with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other external parties with professionalism and discretion.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails, ensuring timely distribution and response.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for internal and external use.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information and firm matters.
- Perform general administrative duties, including photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
- Support lawyers in various legal processes, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively
- Discretion and ability to handle confidential information sensitively
- Basic understanding of legal terminology and procedures
