Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute diverse tour itineraries, ensuring unique and engaging experiences.
  • Manage all logistical aspects of tours, including transportation, accommodation, attractions, and catering.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best services and rates.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise tour guides and support staff, ensuring high service standards.
  • Monitor tour budgets, process invoices, and manage expenses efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-tour briefings and post-tour debriefings with guides and participants.
  • Handle client inquiries, feedback, and resolve any issues or emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote tours and develop new offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tour-related activities and financials.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in tour operations, event management, or hospitality (minimum 3 years).
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and adaptability.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, history, and culture of the Canberra region.
