Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and skilled Cinematographer on a contract basis to join our dynamic marketing and communications team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the visual narrative of one of Egypt’s most iconic industrial enterprises. The Cinematographer will be instrumental in conceptualizing, capturing, and producing high-quality video content that highlights our brand, products, corporate events, internal stories, and heritage. You will work closely with our marketing strategists, content creators, and internal stakeholders to transform ideas into captivating visual experiences that resonate with our target audiences, both locally and internationally.
Your role will involve everything from pre-production planning, including storyboard development and shot list creation, to on-set execution, encompassing lighting, camera operation, and sound recording. You will be responsible for ensuring that all video productions meet our high standards of quality and align with our brand guidelines. This position demands a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of visual aesthetics, and the technical proficiency to operate professional camera equipment and associated gear. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the marketing team to understand project objectives, develop concepts, and create detailed storyboards and shot lists for various video productions.
- Operate professional video cameras, drones, and other specialized equipment (e.g., gimbals, sliders, dollies) to capture high-quality footage.
- Set up and manage lighting equipment to achieve desired visual effects and ensure optimal exposure.
- Record clear and high-quality audio, utilizing appropriate microphones and sound recording techniques.
- Conduct on-site shoots at our factory premises, corporate events, product launches, and other designated locations.
- Ensure all footage is properly organized, labeled, and prepared for post-production, adhering to established workflows.
- Maintain and troubleshoot camera equipment, lighting gear, and audio recording devices to ensure optimal functionality.
- Stay updated with the latest cinematography trends, techniques, and equipment to continuously enhance the quality of our video content.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality raw or semi-processed footage for editing.
- Contribute creative ideas and solutions during the entire production process, from concept to execution.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cinematographer or Director of Photography in a professional setting.
- Expertise in operating a wide range of professional camera equipment (e.g., DSLR, Mirrorless, Cinema cameras) and lenses.
- Strong understanding of lighting principles and the ability to effectively use various lighting setups (natural, artificial, studio).
- Proficiency in sound recording techniques and equipment.
- Excellent visual storytelling abilities with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse video projects.
- Knowledge of video codecs, formats, and optimal settings for various output platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Cinematography, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with drone operation and aerial cinematography.
- Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) for rough cuts or quality checks.
- Familiarity with industrial environments and safety protocols.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
