Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on VAT, Income Tax, and Corporate Tax compliance and planning for a varied client portfolio.
  • Prepare and review complex tax computations, returns, and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis, keeping abreast of legislative changes and their potential impact on clients.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and provide proactive recommendations to optimize clients' tax positions.
  • Represent clients during tax audits and inquiries, liaising effectively with HMRC.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Assist in mentoring junior staff and contributing to team knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments to offer integrated financial solutions to clients.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Tax Consultant or Senior Tax Accountant, specifically covering VAT, Income Tax, and Corporate Tax.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a knack for explaining complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines effectively.
  • A client-centric approach with a strong commitment to service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent professional tax qualification.
  • Experience with international tax considerations.
  • Familiarity with various accounting software packages (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
