Job Description
We are urgently seeking dedicated and reliable Delivery Van Drivers to join our dynamic logistics team in Nairobi. This is a critical role responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation and delivery of goods, documents, and other vital items to our clients across various locations within Nairobi and its environs. As a G4S Delivery Van Driver, you will be the face of our company, embodying our commitment to professionalism and excellent service. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining company vehicles, ensuring all deliveries are handled with utmost care, and adhering strictly to all traffic regulations and company safety protocols. You will be expected to meticulously track deliveries, handle documentation, and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain company delivery vans, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Execute timely and accurate delivery of goods, documents, and other items to designated locations within Nairobi and surrounding areas.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Ensure the security and integrity of goods during transit and delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logging mileage, delivery times, and consignment notes.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients at delivery points.
- Assist with loading and unloading items as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan Driving License Class BCE (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery or logistics role.
- Proven clean driving record with no major traffic offenses.
- Excellent knowledge of Nairobi road networks and routes.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate GPS devices and navigation applications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift and carry packages as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working for a reputable logistics or security company.
- Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Defensive driving course certification.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with electronic proof-of-delivery systems.
