Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport passengers to their destinations using company vehicles for private transfers, airport shuttles, and guided tours across Mauritius.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor with all passengers, addressing their needs proactively and providing relevant local information and recommendations.
- Ensure absolute punctuality for all scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs, planning routes diligently to account for traffic, road conditions, and unexpected delays.
- Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is impeccably clean, well-maintained, and fully operational for passenger comfort and safety.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents promptly and accurately to management.
- Adhere strictly to all Mauritian traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Assist passengers with luggage handling, ensuring their comfort and convenience from arrival to departure.
- Process payments accurately, issue receipts, and handle necessary paperwork or digital confirmations, if applicable.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding passenger information, itineraries, and any sensitive discussions.
- Represent SummerTimes' brand with professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude at all times, enhancing our reputation for excellence.
Required Skills
- Valid Mauritian driving license (manual and automatic) with at least 3 years' driving experience.
- Proven experience as a professional driver (taxi, chauffeur, or shuttle) in a commercial setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Mauritius' road network, major tourist attractions, hotels, and key business locations.
- Strong command of English and French, both written and spoken, for effective communication with a diverse clientele.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and irregular shifts (early mornings/late evenings).
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (Form V/SC or equivalent) or higher.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., German, Italian, Mandarin) is a significant advantage.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in the tourism, hospitality, or luxury transportation industry.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
