Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant tax regulations.
- Prepare and file federal and provincial tax returns (corporate, payroll, sales tax).
- Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with auditors during year-end audit processes.
- Develop and maintain robust internal control procedures.
- Utilize accounting software to streamline financial operations.
- Provide financial reports and analysis to management as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
- Proven experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles (GAAP) and tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
