Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the accurate and timely processing of weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payrolls for all employees.
- Input and verify payroll data, including new hires, terminations, changes in pay rates, and employee benefits, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions such as PAYE, National Insurance, student loan repayments, and pension contributions.
- Reconcile payroll data, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related queries or issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential payroll records, ensuring full compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payslips, tax codes, and other payroll matters in a professional, helpful, and empathetic way.
- Prepare and distribute payslips and other essential payroll-related documentation.
- Support with month-end and year-end payroll procedures, including P60s, P45s, and P11Ds.
- Assist in preparing various payroll reports for management, aiding in financial analysis and decision-making.
- Stay updated with relevant UK payroll legislation, HMRC guidelines, and best practices to ensure continuous compliance.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data management and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience, even minimal, with any payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) is a plus, but full training will be provided.
- Basic understanding of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI) or a demonstrated willingness and aptitude to learn quickly.
- Enrolment in or completion of a payroll-related qualification (e.g., CIPP Foundation Degree) is advantageous.
