Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Analyst to join our dynamic and growing team in a remote capacity. This role offers the flexibility to work from your home office in Upington, Northern Cape, while contributing to the security posture of global enterprises. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be instrumental in protecting NTT’s infrastructure and our clients’ digital assets from sophisticated cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of security principles, technologies, and best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS) for security events, alerts, and anomalies.
- Perform initial triage, investigation, and analysis of security incidents to determine scope, impact, and root cause.
- Execute incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on systems and applications to identify security weaknesses.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of security tools and technologies.
- Generate comprehensive reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and security posture.
- Stay informed about the latest cyber threats, attack vectors, and security technologies.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security controls and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in security information and event management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Experience with incident response methodologies and digital forensics.
- Knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, or equivalent.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
- Previous experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security.
