Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine client needs and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, ACT).
- Develop and implement personalised intervention strategies to address a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records in compliance with professional and organisational standards.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, case conferences, and team meetings to ensure high-quality client care and professional development.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, referring clients to additional services as necessary.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new therapeutic programs and initiatives.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in counseling and mental health.
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when required, ensuring client safety and well-being.
Required Skills
- Master's degree or equivalent in Counseling, Psychology, Psychotherapy, or a related mental health field.
- Accreditation or registration with a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience delivering therapeutic interventions.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough assessments and formulate effective treatment plans.
- Proficiency in delivering a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and ethical practice.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and resilience in working with clients facing mental health challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds.
- Specialist training or certification in specific therapeutic approaches (e.g., EMDR, Schema Therapy).
- Experience in group therapy facilitation.
- Knowledge of local mental health services and community resources in Bristol.
- Previous experience working in a private practice or similar setting.
