Job Description

As a Music Editor at Career.zycto, you will be the maestro behind the emotional and narrative heartbeat of our diverse productions. You’ll meticulously weave musical elements into film, television, games, podcasts, and digital content, ensuring seamless integration and maximum impact. You’ll work closely with our sound design team, picture editors, and directors, translating their vision into a compelling audio reality.
Your days will involve everything from spotting sessions to detailed cue sheet creation, ensuring every note and beat serves the story. You will be responsible for editing, syncing, and mixing music tracks, whether original scores or licensed material, always striving for pristine audio quality and artistic coherence. Maintaining our extensive music library, categorizing assets, and ensuring all material is properly rights-managed will also be key aspects of your role. We seek a creative problem-solver with a keen ear for detail and a deep understanding of rhythm, harmony, and storytelling through sound. You’ll navigate complex timelines in industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), implementing precise edits and mixes that enhance narrative flow and emotional resonance without distracting from the visuals.

Key Responsibilities
- Edit, sync, and mix music for various media projects including film, TV, games, and digital content.
- Collaborate closely with sound designers, picture editors, and directors to achieve a cohesive audio vision.
- Conduct spotting sessions to determine music placement and emotional impact.
- Manage and maintain the company's music library, ensuring proper organization and rights management.
- Create detailed cue sheets and other necessary documentation for music tracks.
- Ensure all audio assets meet technical specifications and broadcast standards.
- Provide creative input and solutions for music selection and arrangement.
- Stay current with industry trends, software, and audio technologies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, Reaper).
- Strong understanding of music theory, composition, and arrangement.
- Excellent ear for detail, timing, and rhythm.
- Demonstrated experience in music editing, syncing, and mixing for visual media.
- Familiarity with various audio file formats and conversion processes.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Production, Audio Engineering, Film Scoring, or a related field.
