Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a comprehensive training program covering all aspects of aviation ground support.
- Assist with aircraft marshalling, ensuring safe and precise guidance of aircraft on the ramp.
- Handle baggage and cargo loading/unloading, adhering to safety and security procedures.
- Learn to operate various ground support equipment (e.g., pushback tugs, baggage carts, GPU, air start units) under supervision.
- Support aircraft servicing tasks, including potable water and lavatory services.
- Conduct pre-operational checks of equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment on the ramp and in equipment areas.
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, airport personnel, and team members using two-way radios.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, airport authority rules, and Transport Canada guidelines.
- Assist with de-icing operations during winter months, if required.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License (or equivalent) with a clean driving abstract.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airside Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, exposed to various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to strict operational procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in operating machinery.
- First Aid certification.
