Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload cargo from vessels, trucks, and railcars using various equipment and manual methods.
- Operate and monitor port machinery, including forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment, as trained and certified.
- Properly secure cargo for transport and storage, adhering to all safety regulations and best practices.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing cargo for damage and accurately record relevant information.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe environment for all port personnel.
- Assist with mooring and unmooring vessels, handling lines and ropes as directed by supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and vessel crew to ensure smooth and coordinated operations.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and maritime regulations to prevent incidents.
- Perform general maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities as required, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Actively participate in ongoing training programs, safety drills, and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg) and perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (e.g., 1+ year) in a maritime, logistics, warehousing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Certification in operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy lifting equipment (e.g., reach stackers, top loaders).
- Knowledge of cargo handling procedures, stowage plans, and general port operations.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- A clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
