Job Description

Tofo Scuba, a renowned PADI 5-star Dive Centre nestled in the breathtaking coastal paradise of Tofo Beach, Inhambane, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Programmer Helper to join our dedicated team. As a Junior Programmer Helper, you will work closely with our operational teams, assisting with the maintenance, development, and improvement of various digital tools and systems. Your primary role will involve supporting our existing website, booking platforms, and internal databases, ensuring their smooth operation and contributing to small-scale development projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and updates of the company website and booking systems (e.g., WordPress, custom PHP scripts).
  • Support the development and testing of minor software enhancements and new features for internal tools.
  • Help troubleshoot basic IT issues related to software applications and databases.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement website content updates and SEO best practices.
  • Document technical procedures and code changes to ensure maintainability.
  • Learn and apply new programming languages and frameworks as required for project tasks.
  • Provide general technical support to staff on various digital platforms.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of programming logic and concepts.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS).
  • Basic knowledge of web development principles.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress.
  • Basic knowledge of database concepts and SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Previous experience in a support or assistant role, even non-technical.
